Many of our servers (ANNA, CLARA, LUNA, ...) use an "emulated" release of Windows. You can access these releases at the university and in the residence halls by using your Explorer.
for example:
After you log in you can access directories for the server like accessing a drive.
TIP: When you access the server, Windows attempts to log on with your local user data (the user name and password you are using). If these are accepted, you do not have to enter them again.
Note: These releases can be used outside the university by using our VPN client (see www.hs-coburg.de/vpn ).
Vista/Windows7: Turn on the "LmCompatibilityLevel"[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa]
"LmCompatibilityLevel"=dword:00000001
NetStorage provides access to the most important directories using a web browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer). Some files can be also be copied to the server.
