Language Learning with a Certificate
These courses were first offered in winter semester 2001/2 and are financed by the European Social Fund. Students are able to earn language certificates in English, Spanish and French.
Informational sessions are offered at the beginning of every semester.
Selected academic departments support their students wishing to complete these certificates. For further information contact the Language Center or your department.
Language Learning with a Certificate

Cambridge Certificates in English
- are internationally recognized by universities, institutions and in the business world.
- certify language competence in the four basic skills: listening and reading comprehension, writing and speaking.
- are available as an external examination in Coburg at the Cambridge subcenter at the local VHS (Volkshochschule - Adult Education Center)

course (AW-Fach) and they have no bearing on the external Cambridge language certificate.
Cambridge Certificate Preparation Course
This course is offered in three modules with a total course load of 6 Semesterwochenstunden (SWS).
The first module begins in winter semester and carries 2 SWS / 2.5 ECTS points.
During the semester break the second module is offered as an intensive course. It also carries 2 SWS / 2.5 ECTS points. At the end of this modue students may register for the Cambridge examination, which is taken in June.
The third module is offered in summer semester, again with 2 SWS / 2.5 ECTS points.
At the end of each of the modules a test will be completed - each of these tests is for credit in the FH

- are completed at the FH Coburg in compliance with the applicable Program and Examinations Regulations.

UNIcert Certificate Courses
In order to obtain a UNIcert certificate students must complete three modules with a total course load of 10 Semesterwochenstunden (SWS).
The first module begins every winter semester and carries 4 SWS.
During the semester break the second module is offered as an intensive course. It also carries 2 SWS.
The third module is offered in summer semester, again with 4 SWS.
At the end of each module a test is completed - each of these tests functions as partial completion of the UNIcert certificate as well as for credit in the FH elective (AW-Fach).
To obtain a UNIcert certificate, students must successfully complete all three tests and pay a processing fee of €50.
