One for all

All students at Coburg University of Applied Sciences pay the semester fee every semester: once at the start of their studies as part of enrollment, then before the start of each new semester in order to re-register and thus remain enrolled at Coburg University of Applied Sciences.

The semester fee is made up of the student union fee and the cost of the semester ticket.

From the summer semester 2025, the semester contribution will be as follows:

  • Semester ticket: 65,02 €
  • Student union fee: 87,-€

This results in a semester fee of € 152.02.

From winter semester 25/26, the semester fee will be as follows:

  • Student union fee: 87
  • Semester ticket: € 66.82

This results in a semester fee of € 153.82.

The Student Affairs Department is responsible for processing payments.

Semester contribution versus tuition fees

Coburg University of Applied Sciences is legally obliged to collect the student union fee. The university then pays this contribution to the Studierendenwerk Oberfranken.

The lump sum charged for the semester ticket is negotiated by the student council with the help of the Studierendenwerk with the participating transport companies. With the semester ticket, you can travel free of charge on certain forms of public transport.

Both partial amounts may increase slightly from time to time, which then leads to an increase in the total semester fee.

In contrast to semester fees, tuition fees are additional costs that are charged for the course itself. At state universities, for example, continuing education or part-time degree courses are affected. Bavarian universities can also charge fees for international students (with regulations on fee exemptions, e.g. for EU nationals).
