Coburg is worth living and loving

Martin Luther, who spent six months at the Veste Coburg in 1530, noted at the time that Coburg was “(…) an extremely charming place and suitable for study”. This is still true today. Because apart from the fact that you can enjoy perhaps the best view of Luther’s former accommodation, the Veste Coburg, from the university, the town has a lot to offer. So it’s no wonder that, statistically speaking, around one in ten students here is a fellow student. This is because there are nearly 5,000 students for every 41,000 inhabitants. This is also reflected in the city’s leisure activities, festivals and nightlife.

In Coburg, both the university and leisure activities are well combined, which makes studying particularly enjoyable.

Concerts, cabaret, lectures and balls take place all year round at the Kongresshaus Coburg.

The wine festival on the market square, the Schlossplatzfest, Schützenfest, flea markets, Coburg dumpling market or the food truck festival etc. round off the program of summer activities. With the Bundesliga clubs HSC Coburg (handball) and BBC Coburg (basketball), there is also top-class sport in the Vestadt – with reduced admission prices for students.
