When does it start? When do I need to be where? To make sure you don’t miss anything and can get off to a great start in your studies at Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts, we’ve compiled all the important dates for your degree program here.

Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Construction & Design

  • Starting in late August: The Office of Academic Affairs will begin mailing student ID cards
  • October 1: Official start of the semester at 8:15 a.m. in the brose auditorium on the Friedrich Streib I campus; faculty-specific orientation session at 9:30 a.m. in Room 2-214 | Program-specific orientation session at 10:30 a.m. in Room 2-014.
  • October 2: Classes begin according to the schedule.

  • Starting in late August: The Office of Academic Affairs will begin mailing student ID cards
  • September 29–30: Freshman Orientation
  • October 1: Official start of the semester at 8:15 a.m. in the brose auditorium on the Friedrich Streib I campus; faculty-specific orientation session at 9:30 a.m. in Room 2-214 | Program-specific orientation session at 10:30 a.m. in Room 2-210.
  • October 6: Classes begin according to the schedule.

  • Starting in late August: The Office of Academic Affairs will begin mailing student ID cards
  • October 1: Official start of the semester at 8:15 a.m. in the brose Auditorium on the Friedrich Streib I Campus; program-specific orientation session at 9:15 a.m. in the Rösler Auditorium.
  • October 2: Orientation days for mentoring groups starting at 9:00 a.m.

Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Business

  • October 1: Official semester opening at 8:00 a.m. in Room K1-120 at the Kronach location on the Lucas-Cranach Campus, with a live broadcast from Coburg I Followed by: Program-specific orientation at 8:45 a.m. in Room K1-120 at the Kronach campus (Lucas-Cranach Campus) as part of the “Trend and Project Management I” module. Starting at 1:00 p.m.: Get to know the campus, your mentors, and your fellow students
  • To wrap things up, there will be a semester kickoff party at the Amos Lounge.

  • Starting in late August: The Office of Academic Affairs will begin mailing student ID cards
  • October 1: Official start of the semester at 8:15 a.m. in the brose auditorium on the Friedrich Streib Campus

Orientation Semester

  • Starting in late August: The Office of Academic Affairs will begin mailing student ID cards
  • September 15: Online orientation session (optional) at 10 a.m. or 5 p.m., with an explanation of how to select modules
  • October 1: Official opening of the semester at 8:15 a.m. in the Brose Auditorium on the Friedrich Streib Campus
  • October 1:
    • FOKUS Orientation Semester: Introduction to your chosen major starting at 9:15 a.m.: You will be picked up at your program table in the Säulenhalle.
    • Orientation Semester DIVERSITY: Introduction to your semester starting at 9:15 a.m. in the Wöhner Lecture Hall. You will be picked up at the “Orientation Semester” table in the Colonnade Hall.
  • Following the orientation for your primary degree program or semester: Classes begin (as per the schedule). Please note that, depending on your degree program, the modules you have selected may start on different days, as indicated in the schedule.
