Who we are, what we stand for
Coburg University of Applied Sciences is diverse, family-oriented and people-centered. It is a place of holistic education, creativity and individual support. At our four locations in Coburg, Kronach, Lichtenfels and Bamberg, we train more than just specialists and work in a solution-oriented manner in our six faculties as well as in part-time continuing education on the topics that really move society and the economy, such as health, climate change, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and future design. Coburg University of Applied Sciences now also has the right to award doctorates in research-intensive areas.

Central third-party funded projects:
The Research and External Funding Service unit is the interface between the university's academics, research-based companies and the institutions that fund research. Among other things, it advises scientists and companies on applying for national and international funding programs and third-party funded projects, on strategic and administrative support in acquiring third-party funding and on project administration and controlling of third-party funded projects.

Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts views anti-democratic tendencies in society with great concern and positions itself unequivocally in favor of progress, diversity and humanity.
The university stands for respect and tolerance and attaches great importance to fair and appreciative interaction with one another. All members of the university are called upon to work together respectfully at all levels and to cultivate a culture of respect.
We train more than just skilled workers. We educate people. We develop personalities who use their professional and interdisciplinary skills to contribute responsibly to social, economic and ecological development.

The university respects the freedom of opinion of all members. At the same time, we expect the exchange of ideas to always be based on the principles of our free and democratic basic order and mutual respect. Based on our constitution and in accordance with our legal educational mandate, we are committed to an appreciative and inclusive learning and working environment. Science needs freedom, democracy and the rule of law.
We keep a close eye on social developments and make it clear that there is no room for right-wing extremist, unconstitutional and misanthropic attitudes at our university.
We are part of the "Weltoffene Hochschule " campaign of the German Rectors' Conference and the Alliance against Right-Wing Extremism in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. Coburg University of Applied Sciences is also part of the "Universities show attitude" initiative. This campaign was launched by the Network Against Discrimination at Universities, the Network Diversity at Universities and the Federal Conference of Women's and Equal Opportunities Officers at Universities (bukof), among others.
We live diversity, liberal democracy and the rule of law every day in teaching, research and transfer. In accordance with our mission statement, we see it as our social responsibility to strengthen these fundamental principles together with our local, regional and international partners.
