Fees
Germany is one of the few countries in the world that does not charge tuition fees. However, many foreign universities waive tuition fees as part of their partnership programs. You can find out whether this is the case at your chosen university abroad from the International Office.
Fee compass
From the summer semester 2025, Coburg University of Applied Sciences will charge fees for international students from third countries who enrol for a new degree program on the page below. Here you can find out who these fees apply to and how much they will be: Tuition fees for students from non-EU countries
Recognition
As a rule, credits earned abroad are recognized for studies in Germany – provided they meet the requirements for the respective degree program. We therefore strongly recommend that you find out which requirements must be met for recognition when preparing your studies abroad. You can get support from the International Office and the International Relations Officer of your faculty.

Internships abroad

There are many opportunities to gain practical experience abroad during your studies: Starting with an internship semester to shorter stays abroad in foreign institutions and companies during the semester break. Each degree program has numerous contacts with companies and institutions abroad. Simply ask your faculty’s international relations officer. In order for the internship abroad to be recognized as a compulsory internship, you must meet the requirements of your degree program. Information can also be obtained from the international coordinator.

Double degree - Double Degree

In some degree programs, there is the possibility of acquiring a so-called double degree. Students complete their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at Coburg University of Applied Sciences and at one of our international partner universities. In this way, they get to know studying abroad intensively, benefit from different subject specializations and have two Bachelor’s degrees “in their pocket” at the end. The study programs are coordinated. Study and examination achievements are acquired at both universities and mutually recognized.
Double degrees are currently possible in:
Further possibilities
In addition to a study or internship semester abroad, you can also complete a language course abroad. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides information on possible offers.
The DAAD provides a discussion platform on the“Studying Worldwide” website where students can share their individual experiences from their stay abroad (studies, internships and language courses) and pass on valuable tips and information. Among other things, you can find information on preparation, financing, finding accommodation and many other aspects of a stay abroad.
You can also attend a summer school at a partner university or write your thesis abroad.

You should start thinking about how you can integrate one or more stays abroad into your studies right at the beginning of your studies.
