Today's economic and working world brings with it many changes and challenges. Of particular interest here is the interplay between people undergoing further education, employers, family and friends and further education institutions. We have investigated this interaction in an empirical study and examined and brought together the perspectives of the aforementioned groups.

Innovative teaching at Coburg University of Applied Sciences: Platform navigator promotes practical skills development
Coburg University of Applied Sciences consistently relies on innovative and practice-oriented methods in its teaching. The Faculty of Continuing Education at Coburg University of Applied Sciences uses the Platform Navigator, a tool that enables a well-founded examination of the business models of the platform economy. The university would like to thank the donor, Superprof, for her commitment and support in the implementation of contemporary teaching.
Students of the Faculty of Continuing Education (Prof. Dr. Uwe Gail)
The Platform Navigator is a set of cards that helps students to develop platform business models creatively and systematically. The underlying concept is scientifically sound and combines theoretical principles with application-oriented questions. By working with the card set, complex interrelationships of the platform economy are made tangible and analyzed in a structured manner.
The platform navigator opens up new approaches to learning in everyday student life: students work actively, collaboratively and problem-oriented on realistic scenarios. In doing so, they engage intensively with the functionalities and best practices of successful platforms. The method not only promotes technical skills in the field of digital business models, but also methodological skills such as analytical thinking, creativity and teamwork. The use of the platform navigator also strengthens discussion and reflection in the seminar room.
Students take on an active role in the learning process and develop their own solutions, which are then jointly evaluated and further developed. In this way, the method makes a significant contribution to the competence orientation of teaching.
With the integration of the platform navigator, Coburg University of Applied Sciences is underlining its claim to prepare students in the best possible way for the challenges of an increasingly digital and platform-based economy. Innovative teaching concepts such as this one show how scientifically sound content can be successfully combined with practical learning formats.
