- Generally 210 ECTS including a practical semester; for degrees with 180 ECTS, missing ECTS in theory or practice can be made up before the start of studies or within one year after the start of studies. Recognition is possible.

Profile of the degree program
The Master's degree program in Applied Health Sciences qualifies you for challenging tasks at the interface of research, practice and strategic health design. You will learn how to plan, implement and further develop evidence-based health projects in companies, organizations and communities.
The focus is on a holistic understanding of health that integrates mental, physical, social and environmental aspects. There is a particular focus on mental health, resilience and prevention.
You will develop the ability to analyze complex health-related issues in a scientifically sound manner, develop innovative solutions and implement them effectively in various fields of activity. You will combine methodological expertise, research and strategic thinking with practical application.
Course content and schedule
Study internationally
The course is clearly structured and combines methodological principles with applied research:
1. and 2nd semester
The focus is on key skills for scientific and strategic work:
- Empirical research methods (quantitative and qualitative)
- Biopsychosocial health and evidence-based prevention
- Psychological models of health-related behavior
- Mental health, stress, coping and resilience
- Digital health and eMental health
- Health communication and counseling
- Evaluation and project management
A special component is a practice-oriented research project in which you independently design and implement a project in small groups.
3rd semester
- Compulsory elective modules
- Master's thesis with colloquium
You will demonstrate your ability to work independently on complex issues and develop innovative, evidence-based solutions.

You will work on the current state of research and develop your own scientific questions. You will acquire sound skills in quantitative and qualitative research methods, evaluation and scientific work.
A particular focus is on the promotion of mental health – from individual behavioural models and resilience to organizational and social contexts.
You will apply your knowledge directly in practical research projects and learn how to plan, implement and evaluate health-related measures based on evidence.
The degree program addresses key developments such as digital health, eMental Health, environmental factors and social transformation. This will prepare you specifically for the complex health challenges of the future.
