Computer Vision Lab
Brief description
The Computer Vision Lab offers students a hands-on environment for developing and testing modern image processing and automation solutions. The focus is on optimal image capture, various lighting scenarios, and the selection and configuration of industrial cameras and lenses. In this way, students learn how image quality and the resulting measurement accuracy are directly influenced by technical constraints.
In addition, feature extraction and object recognition methods are investigated and applied. By integrating robots, the results of image analysis can be used directly for gripping, sorting, and inspection tasks. Supplementary topics in general signal processing, such as signal convolution and correlation, round out the curriculum.
The lab places a strong emphasis on practical application in its training program: Students combine theoretical knowledge with real-world industrial applications.
Location: The Computer Vision Lab is located in Room 2-128 on the Friedrich Streib Campus.
